The Pulitzer-Prize winner reads from his new novel Canada—a magisterial coming-of-age story set largely in Saskatchewan—and talks about the rootless protagonists that populate his books, and typify the fragility of human experience.
Richard Ford (USA) is an internationally lauded author of novels and short stories. He is the author of the Bascombe novels including The Sportswriter; The Lay of the Land and Independence Day, which received the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN Faulkner Award. He has also written a screenplay, non-fiction works and short story collections such as Rock Springs and A Multitude of Sins. Ford presents his acclaimed new novel Canada. Set in Montana and Saskatchewan, the haunting novel follows a young man that is forced by catastrophic circumstances to reconcile himself to a world rendered unrecognizable.
