Mythopoets is comprised of iconic collaborative sculptures, narrative-based characters that include unique features from each artist's repertoire. Concepts used range from cute culture, mythology, political satire and formal study with the aim of promoting critical dialogue and to introduce patrons and passersby to new artistic practices supported by EPCOR CENTRE.

Artist Biography

Bee Kingdom is a collaborative artist collective made up of four artists, Ryan Marsh Fairweather, Kai Scholefield, Tim Belliveau, and Phillip Bandura. The Calgary-based glass studio emerged in 2006 and focuses on conceptual glassmaking rather than functional glassware.

Bee Kingdom has been named as Avenue Magazine's Top 40 Under 40 in 2010 and has been awarded the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artist Award in the same year. They have also exhibited in the Katakouzenos House Museum in Athens, Greece as well as in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin, Germany.

Bandura and Belliveau are now establishing a studio in Berlin, Berlin Glas e.V., while continuing to collaborate with Fairweather and Scholefield in Calgary.
